Okay, I have a bunch of .mpg files on a CD. Each of the files is about an hour long, but within each file is a 3-4 minute clip that I want to put into iMovie. For some reason iMovie is having trouble with the .mpg format, also I don't know how to avoid bringing in the entire hour. I tried importing the files in Final Cut (thinking I could set In & Out points, move the clip down to the sequence, and then export the sequence as .mov) but the files lose their audio and when I try to move them down …

Suppose that you're logging and capturing into Final Cut Pro using the hv20. FCP might have difficulty upon the "batch capture" command. An error message will pop up saying that FCP can't locate the starting point on the tape. Repeatedly clicking "Continue" will force FCP to try again, but this procedure is incredibly annoying. To fix it, simply close and restart FCP after you've logged all your footage. FCP will now have no problem batch capturing. NB: I was capturing 1080p24-pulldown …

Hi 1: Insert the DVD in the Computer. Let it mount on the desktop and Quit the DVD Player if it opens automatically. 2: In the Apple/Authoring menu open the application "Cinematize" 3: Drag the DVD Icon into the main Cinematize window. 4: Select the "Video Title Set 01" file (or one of them if there's several) in the DVD Files list and click on the "Select VTS" button at the bottom right of the interface. 5: Let Cinematize read the DVD. This may take a while. When it completes, …

Hello Lee, I'm having issues with ripping video/audio from a DVD into FCP (only the video seems to turn up), which is weird because this DVD was originally created in FCP a few years ago. However, when I upload to YouTube, the audio exists but is just misaligned. Also, every time I try to slice part of the DVD that is too long for upload to YouTube (once I already have the file in MPG format), FCP shuts down because of an error. Is there a better way to bring files from a DVD into FCP …

If you try to play a DVD on one of the lab machines and it tells you that you need to set the region code, you will not be able to proceed without an administrator password. This is not your fault. It is our fault. We will fix it for you as soon as possible. Please use this forum and include the name and location of the offending machine...or....find either Lee or myself during the week.
